In the year 2258, it is ten years after the Earth-Minbari War. Commander Sinclair takes command of a giant five-mile-long cylindrical space station, orbiting a planet in neutral space. At a crossroads of interstellar commerce and diplomacy, Cmdr Sinclair (2d season Captain Sheridan) must try to establish peace and prosperity between various interstellar empires, all the while fighting forces from within the Earth Alliance. It is a precarious command, particularly given that sabotage led to the destruction of Babylon stations 1, 2, and 3 and 4 vanished without trace. I don't know what to say.... as another fellow reviewer stated.... "Babylon 5 is the greatest science fiction show in the history of television." there is simply nothing more to say... even now in the fall of 2017... The story is a timeless masterpiece which is still unparalleled and the character arches are one of a kind. My vote is until the war of the shadows ended...Very good storyline and escalation.<br/><br/>After the war the series it was extremely BORING. It seems that they tried to put too much politics in a sci-fi show... They tried to much that I could say it was first political-thriller and then SciFi show... After the was I kept watching the show waiting for something BIG to happen ...but the show ended :P<br/><br/>My 8 goes ONLY to the first 4 seasons... <br/><br/>My advice :If you want to watch the series watch the first 4 seasons only. You can skip the last season and feel assured that you watched all the SciFi -Thriller part of the show. -Both shows involved combat against mysterious foes who seemed much more powerful than the protagonists: The Dominion on Deep Space Nine and the Shadows on Babylon 5.
